Field Investigation Observations

Land Use

On-site Landuse
This site is covered in overgrown vegetation. It appears to be used as a storage/dump site with piles of gravel, stones, asphalt and soil dispersed across the parcel. On five separate visits homeless appeared to be living on the site.

Adjacent Landuse
The land use immediately surrounding this site is vacant land and railroad right-of-way (to the south). Further north a small apartment building and bar operate along Maryland Avenue. A Conectiv parking area is located on the opposite site of Lower Elm Street. I-95 passes approximately one hundred feet to the west, the area under which is fenced off and vacant dividing the site further from the rest of the city.

Presence of Children

No children live on the site and there are limited residential areas around the site. Older children may play on the site, and homeless persons were observed living on the site.

Exposed Soil

While the majority of the site is overgrown grass, piles of gravel, stones, asphalt and soil are found across the site.
