Field Investigation Observations

Land Use

On-site Landuse
A church currently occupies this site. On the eastern half is found the church building surrounded by grass, while the western half is a parking area.

Adjacent Landuse
On three sides of this site are found row houses. To the northeast is a small public park whose southern section is covered in cobblestones including raised planters and an amphitheatre. Across Church Street to the east is the Greenburg Supply Co. sprawling across portions of two blocks southeast of the Lord Street intersection.

Presence of Children

A large number of row houses around the site suggests a large youth population. However, few children were observed in daytime site visits. The site itself is almost entirely fenced off and the only real recreational opportunities would be in the parking area.

Exposed Soil

This site has already been remediated and capped (DNREC Site DE1082). Tetra Tech was informed by DNREC that the grass around the site grows upon imported soil.
