Field Investigation Observations

Land Use

On-site Landuse
The structure is located on the center of the parcel with the majority of the remainder of the block covered in asphalt.

Adjacent Landuse
The DART bus facility dominates its immediate area. Blocks to the north and east are used for bus parking while blocks to the west are automobile parking areas for DART drivers. To the south is the Forensic Sciences complex.

Presence of Children

It is highly unlikely that children would frequent the site itself, however the grass strip along Adams may be used by older youth as a place to relax.

Exposed Soil

A small grassy area with trees approximately 10-15' in width extends along Adams Street at grade (the DART facility is cut into the slope). Trees also extend along Chestnut Street. A landscaped area mostly grass is found in front of the building along Monroe Street. On one site visit a group of drivers were relaxing in this area.
